The Branch Manager is responsible for driving business growth within the branch by expanding assets and liabilities, strengthening customer relationships and ensuring operational efficiency. The role oversees branch operations, delivers strong customer service and maintains the quality of the asset portfolio within acceptable risk thresholds.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth & Financial Performance
- Drive branch profitability by growing deposits, loans and overall balance sheet performance.
- Expand SME and retail banking portfolios in line with business targets.
- Identify and develop opportunities within key economic sectors in the branch's market.
- Manage the branch cost base while maximising revenue generation.
- Lead local marketing and client acquisition initiatives to expand the branch customer base.
- Review credit applications and ensure lending decisions comply with internal risk policies.
- Maintain strong asset quality through proactive portfolio monitoring.
- Support recovery efforts and manage non-performing exposures where necessary.
- Ensure delivery of strong service standards across all banking products and services.
- Maintain regular engagement with key clients to strengthen long-term relationships.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvements where required.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and risk management standards.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reconciliation processes.
- Promote a strong control environment and ensure fraud prevention measures are in place.
- Lead and develop branch staff to deliver business objectives and service excellence.
- Manage team performance through regular reviews and coaching.
- Support staff development through training, mentoring and succession planning.

- Minimum 5 years' experience in banking operations, including 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of banking products, credit processes and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in SME or retail lending and credit assessment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related discipline.
- A Master's degree or professional banking qualification is an added advantage.
