Serving as an integral member of the KRRE team, the Associate will provide day-to-day administrative support while assisting with programmatic responsibilities that ensure KRRE’s success. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, adaptable, and excited about supporting an early-phase organization drive positive environmental and societal impact by providing behind-the-scenes excellence and front-line program support.Key responsibilitiesAdministrative and Operations Support (60%)
  • Support the CEO and team with scheduling, communications, and calendar coordination
  • Assist in organizing team meetings, internal systems, and digital records
  • Support Finance Lead to process invoices, receipts, and other finance related tasks
  • Support HR-related tasks including onboarding documents, time-off tracking, and staff communications
  • Help manage vendor relationships and logistics for events and field operations
  • Support grant reporting by organizing materials, tracking deadlines, and maintaining documentation
  • Assisting to populate Terms of Engagement documents and drafting Grant Agreements with stakeholders for review by the Program and Strategy Lead or CEO
Programmatic and Field Support (40%)
  • Support team on booking travel, accommodation, and other relevant logistics
  • Support organization and content creation for stakeholder meetings and events (this may include technical support in crafting and/or editing professional PowerPoint presentations and talking points as well as taking meeting minutes)
  • Support monitoring and evaluation efforts for donor and impact reports (e.g. support leads on data collection and report writing)
  • Help team track milestones and deliverables using project management software like Trello Assist in maintaining relationships with community partners, local stakeholders, and field teams. Due to the fast-paced nature of the organization, responsibilities may expand over time, therefore flexibility and a positive attitude are of paramount importance.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Project Management, or al related field
  • 3+ years of experience in administrative or program support roles, preferably in a nonprofit or startup environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage calendars, meetings, and internal systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable handling data entry, expense tracking, and light financial reporting
  • Familiarity with project management tools, and willing to learn new ones
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset-able to take initiative, work independently, and move projects forward without waiting for direction.
  • Speed-focused and execution-driven, comfortable juggling multiple workstreams across diverse topics in a dynamic startup setting
  • Interest in, or commitment to, environmental conservation or mission-driven work
