The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing all sales activities, third-party supplier relationships, product representation, and sales support to the reservations and bookings team. The role ensures that sales targets are achieved, partnerships are nurtured, and all product information is accurately maintained and communicated in line with the company brand values and objectives.   • Manage day-to-day sales calls, follow-ups, and client communication.
  • Manage third-party supplier products including training, relationship management, and database updates.
  • Negotiate improved payment terms, incentives, and commissions with suppliers and partners.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and system updates for all suppliers and products.
  • Manage supplier agreements including rates, contracts, special offers, and marketing materials.
  • Produce newsletters for internal and external partners regarding product updates, changes in terms, commission structures, special offers, closures, and related matters.
  • Provide proactive support to the reservations team, including assisting with reservations during peak or staff leave periods
  • Actively identify new sales opportunities and strategies to increase performance and revenue.
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and property visits to maintain strong product knowledge and industry presence.
  • Monitor competitor activities and provide insights to management.
  • Support in conversion of bookings by following up on booking trends and providing assistance to the reservations team.
  • Manage guest review responses on platforms such as TripAdvisor and Google Reviews.
  • Monitor company website and social media content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Follow up on in-house guest feedback and communicate key feedback to agents.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the Reservations Manager to review booking trends and conversions.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with the Managing Director and external representatives to review sales development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA may be beneficial but not required).
  • In-depth knowledge of Tanzania and East Africa as a tourism destination.
  • Strong understanding of rates, contracts, and commission structures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, including competitors.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
  • Proven experience in negotiations and relationship management.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and change management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • High level of organization, administrative ability, and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a competitive environment.
  • Creative thinker with strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to handle sensitive supplier and client relationships professionally.
