- Track all project activities, outputs, and achievements to ensure alignment with assignment objectives and expected impacts.
- Maintain a clear, structured overview of milestones, deliverables, and progress indicators across all work packages.
- Support the Team Leader in consolidating milestones and reporting on the assignment, as well as preparing inputs for NESP reporting to its funders.
- Ensure timely preparation of high-quality reports, briefs, and progress updates in line with GIZ requirements.
- Document major milestones, outcomes, and impacts to enhance visibility and accountability to funders and stakeholders.
- Prepare lessons learned, case studies, and knowledge products to support sector-wide learning and dissemination.
- Advise on communication strategies and plans to ensure effective visibility of project progress and outcomes.
- Support the development of communication materials that highlight achievements, innovations, and impacts in off-grid renewable energy.
- Ensure that communication outputs are coherent, accurate, and aligned with GIZ visibility guidelines.
- Work closely with the Team Leader and technical experts to ensure consistent, coordinated reporting across all work packages.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure that monitoring and reporting processes are embedded in day-to-day implementation.
- Contribute to internal coordination, ensuring that information flows smoothly between experts and task orders.
- Actively learns about safeguarding and integrates it into their work, including safeguarding risks and mitigations related to their area of work.
- Practices the values of Mercy Corps including respecting the dignity and well-being of participants and fellow team members
- Master's degree (or equivalent, e.g., German Diploma) in communications, public policy, international development, or a related field.
- Excellent command of English (C1 level, CEFR).
- General: Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the power sector, working with both public and private entities. At least 5 of these years must have been acquired within the last 6 years.
- Specific: At least 5 years in communications and reporting of renewable energy project, 3 of which in rural electrification projects under international development.
- International experience: At least 4 years in one country with an economy in transition outside the West Africa region
- Regional experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in West Africa, including a minimum of 1 year in Nigeria.
- At least 3 years of experience working on development cooperation projects.
