Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial reports and management information reports.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in Tally and support improvements in finance processes and reporting accuracy.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and follow-up of outstanding balances.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, routine cashbook control, and general financial housekeeping.
  • Prepare and process statutory returns including PAYE, VAT, SHIF, NSSF, and other applicable filings, ensuring timely submission.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining schedules, reconciliations, and proper
  • documentation for internal and external review.
  • Provide financial control over procurement transactions, ensuring cost control, policy
  • compliance, and proper approvals.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal requirements.
  • Participate in stock counts and inventory reconciliations, and ensure variances are
  • investigated and resolved. Support basic margin and costing analysis where required.
  • Supervise and guide the Accounts Assistant in day-to-day finance operations.
  • Contribute to the improvement of internal controls, finance processes, and reporting discipline across the business.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent
  • 5–7 years’ relevant finance experience
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS, IAS, and Kenyan tax/statutory requirements
  • Experience in manufacturing is required
  • Exposure to inventory-heavy environments is preferred
  • Exposure to EPZ/export businesses will be an added advantage
  • Experience using Tally is preferred
