- Participating in the monitoring and evaluation of national development plans, aiding in identifying alignment opportunities with WFP's objectives.
- Supporting in the preparation of reports and presentations for stakeholder engagement, including government officials and development partners, and assist in organizing and participating in relevant meetings and workshops.
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, International Development, Development Economics and/or a related Field.
- Graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a Bachelor's or equivalent studies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams Platform
- Previous experience in Development, Policy analysis or a related field is an added advantage.
- Effective assistance in analyzing government priorities and development strategies to align with WFP's objectives, resulting in strategic advice that informs WFP's engagement and program implementation.
- Successful contribution to the development and implementation of advocacy materials and communication strategies that enhance WFP's visibility and role in national development.
- Meaningful participation in stakeholder meetings and workshops, demonstrating the ability to gather relevant information, engage with partners, and contribute to partnership building.
- The production of high-quality reports, briefing notes, and presentations that support WFP's strategic objectives and decision-making processes.
- Demonstrable learning and professional development in areas relevant to WFP's mission and the intern's career aspirations, as reflected in their end-of-internship report.
- Policy and Strategy Analysis Report: Due by the end of the third month. This comprehensive report should analyse government priorities and development strategies, identifying synergies with WFP's objectives and suggesting areas for strategic engagement.
- Advocacy Materials and Communication Strategy: Completion expected by the end of the fourth month. The intern must produce a set of advocacy materials (e.g., brochures, social media posts, presentations) aimed at promoting WFP's role in national development, alongside a brief strategy for their deployment.
- Stakeholder Engagement Summary and Recommendations: Due by the end of the internship period. This document should summarize the intern's participation in meetings and workshops, highlighting key insights gained, partnerships fostered, and providing recommendations for future engagement strategies.
- Completion of Initial Research and Analysis: By the end of the first month, the intern should have completed preliminary research on government priorities and development strategies, with an initial draft of the policy and strategy analysis report.
- Development of Advocacy Materials: By the end of the second month, initial drafts of advocacy materials should be ready for review, with a conceptual outline of the communication strategy.
- Mid-Term Presentation: At the halfway point (end of the third month), the intern presents their findings, drafts of advocacy materials, and initial stakeholder engagement insights to the team for feedback.
- Final Report Draft Submission: By the end of the fifth month, a complete draft of the policy and strategy analysis report and the stakeholder engagement summary should be submitted for final review.
- Completion of All Deliverables: All deliverables, including the refined advocacy materials and communication strategy, should be finalized and submitted by the end of the internship period.
- Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP depending on the duty station of assignment.
- WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
- WFP will recognize candidates' educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
- The internship duration is 8 months, full-time.
