BettingJobs is working with a successful international sports betting and gaming manager who are looking for a Group Chief Operations Officer to join their team in Nairobi.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to drive innovation, business growth, profitability, and competitiveness.
  • Lead strategies for market growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including financial administration, risk management, compliance, and client services.
  • Ensure efficient, cost-effective processes that streamline workflows and improve performance.
  • Manage operational project plans, budgets, ROI, resources, milestones, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance customer support services and foster a customer-centric culture.
  • Build strong client relationships, ensure satisfaction and retention, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop and track KPIs across all markets and departments, providing performance reports and insights to leadership.
  • Implement and monitor risk management strategies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and corrective actions to meet targets.
  • Lead and mentor high-performing teams across markets, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with partners, vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Review and manage supplier contracts to maximize value.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Leadership or people-management training is an advantage.
  • Relevant professional qualifications and membership in applicable professional bodies.
  • Proven COO or senior management experience, ideally in the betting/i-gaming industry.
  • Strong understanding of operations, financials, risk, marketing, and regulatory compliance within Africa.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute strategic initiatives through teams.
  • Strong technical literacy, innovative thinking, and fast problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • General interest in sports betting.
