The Grants & Compliance Officer will;
- Assist in the preparation, review, and submission of grant proposals, including budget development and narrative writing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant-related documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and deliverables to ensure timely submission and compliance.
- Collaborate with finance and program staff to monitor grant expenditures and ensure adherence to budget allocations.
- Assist in the preparation of donor financial reports and ensure compliance with donor reporting guidelines.
- Serve as a liaison between program staff, funding partners, and other stakeholders regarding grant-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the grant lifecycle.
- Assist in the development and implementation of grant management policies, procedures, and systems.
- Support capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing the grant management skills of staff members.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate donor financial reports on grant activities and financial status to immediate supervisor.
- Monitor and document the grant making workflow processes, forms, templates, reports and data to assure full compliance with internal controls and legal requirements.
- Maintain working knowledge of RHNK's programs and priority funding areas and remain abreast of current research, activities, and trends in the reproductive health sector.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related fields.
- 4 years of relevant experience in grant management, donor compliance or financial oversight
- Proven experience working with international donors.
- Experience in budget preparation, grant proposal review, financial reporting and sub-grant management.
- Grants and contract management - from award to close-out.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, budgets and compliance.
- Analytical skills for reviewing budgets, financial reports and grant performance.
- Familiarity with grant lifecycle: solicitation, selection, award, implementation, monitoring and closeout.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in grants management software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and donor liaison.
- Ability to train and mentor sub-grantees and partners on grant requirements.
- Understanding of grant agreements, contracts, and MoUs.
- Familiarity with monitoring, reporting, and audit requirements of grants.
- Skills in risk assessment and ensuring internal controls are in place.
- Certified Public Accountant Kenya (CPA-K).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel to field offices or sub-grantee locations as required.
