We deliver results that are informed, inclusive, and locally grounded.ROLE SUMMARY:Farsight is seeking an experienced Project Manager & Team Leader to coordinate all technical and operational aspects of a long-term, multi-sectoral research engagement under UN Client in Somalia. The role involves managing multi-phase research activities (baseline, thematic, ad hoc), ensuring consistent delivery of outputs such as dashboards, policy briefs, and field reports, and coordinating diverse stakeholders across Somalia and Kenya.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:This role’s core responsibility will be to steer strategic outcomes, proactively manage risks, and cultivate strong alignment across stakeholders to ensure project success and long-term impact at Farsight Africa Group covering the countries of operation.1. Project Management
  • Mange the execution of work plans, budgets, and team assignments under the client Long Term Agreement (LTA) with Farsight Africa Group
  • Own implementation of client-requested research tasks across Somalia’s federal member states
  • Ensure compliance with donor reporting cycles, contracting, and deliverables.
2. Team Leadership
  • Lead cross-functional technical and field teams, including both internal and consultant staff
  • Conduct onboarding, mentoring, and periodic performance assessments • Create a collaborative, high-performance work culture
3. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as secondary liaison with client focal points and stabilization partners
  • Lead coordination operations calls, ad-hoc donor briefings, and engagement with national counterparts
  • Translate Farsight’s fieldwork into insights that inform client stabilization programming
4. Learning & Strategic Delivery
  • Lead integration of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) insights into project design and strategic pivots
  • Own and ensure the quality, timeliness, and relevance of all project deliverables
  • Direct adaptive management processes in response to evolving field conditions and shifting partner priorities, driving agile and responsive program execution
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, or related field
  • Minimum 7 – 10 years of experience in managing complex projects and leading teams
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability in writing Research and M& E Proposals
  • Extensive national and international (Somalia) experience in project management
  • Familiarity with the socio-cultural context of East Africa
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
