Job Description:Eram Talent is seeking a skilled Greenhouse Field Technician to support greenhouse operations and ensure optimal plant growth in field conditions. The role involves hands-on fieldwork, monitoring, and managing environmental factors affecting plant health and productivity.we are seeking a motivated researcher to assist with field and greenhouse-based research for plant breeding and genetics across different crops and species. The technician will need to independently implement and manage field and greenhouse activities, ranging from research experiments including design of field and greenhouse experiments, development of work plans for field research, maintenance and service of research equipment, manage field research plots and greenhouse plants for successful research and propagation. The candidate must be self-motivated, able to work in a multi-cultural setting and have strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and soil moisture in greenhouse and field settings.
  • ensure successful propagation of research plants
  • Manage greenhouse operations
  • Assist in planting, transplanting, and maintenance of crops within greenhouse and field environments.
  • Collect needed phenotypic data for successful experiments
  • Organization of greenhouse and field spaces
  • Inspect plants for diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Operate and maintain irrigation and fertigation systems to ensure adequate water and nutrient supply.
  • Maintain accurate records of field activities, crop growth stages, and environmental data.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in horticulture, agriculture, plant sciences, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working in greenhouse or agricultural field environments.
  • Knowledge of plant health, pest and disease identification, and soil management.
  • Familiarity with irrigation, fertigation, and greenhouse environmental control systems.
  • Experience with field and greenhouse-based research and/or production agriculture (required)
  • Knowledge of fertilizer and chemical application and management (required); commercial applicator license is preferred
  • Familiarity with precision agriculture tools and technologies (preferred)
  • Experience with plant propagation techniques and crop management
  • Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in team settings.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
