nder the Water Act of 2016 the mandate of the Coast Water Works Development Agency is to develop and maintain sustainable water and sanitation infrastructure within the Coast region. The main transmission pipelines, including Mzima, Baricho, Marere and Tiwi – Likoni lines are maintained by the CWWDA. Pipeline patrols are critical in ensuring that leaks and bursts are detected and attended to on time to avoid wastage of the resources.Laboratory TechnicianTerms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Basic Salary: Kshs. (26,205 – 33,020) per month.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve:
  • Simple analytical work;
  • Media preparation;
  • Maintenance of laboratory records;
  • Storage, collection and preparation of samples and specimens; elementary diagnostics work;
  • Maintenance of cultures of insect, bacteria and fungi or laboratory animals; and other laboratory duties as may be assigned.
Person SpecificationsFor appointment to the grade, an officer must have:
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D+ or its recognized equivalent qualification;
  • Certificate in technical education program from KNEC.
