We are looking for a high-caliber Thermal Project Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery and construction of bioenergy (Biomass-to-Steam) projects across Africa. This is a senior-level, "hands-on" role within a lean, high-growth team. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between innovative design and site execution, ensuring the transition to sustainable energy is seamless for our clients.Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Full end-to-end responsibility for the construction and commissioning of thermal projects across the African region.
  • Pre-Construction: Partner with Business Development teams to design decarbonization solutions, manage design concepts, and identify key vendors.
  • Tender Management: Lead the technical review of tender proposals and specifications to ensure the selection of high-quality EPC contractors.
  • Site Leadership: Act as the primary site representative, overseeing EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), quality control, and contractor performance.
  • Cross-Functional Support: As part of a lean organization, support development, sales, and reporting tasks outside of the core construction scope as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Engineering Degree from a reputable university (Honours in Mechanical or Thermodynamic engineering is highly preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years as a project manager for Thermal/Bioenergy plants.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven track record in delivering solid-fired power plants (min. 1MW) or solid-fired steam boiler projects (min. 6t/h) in emerging markets.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of the Thermal/Bioenergy industry and delivery landscape in Africa.
  • Attributes: A proactive, result-driven self-starter with excellent written English and the ability to work independently.
