Technical Support
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs), cost estimates, drawings, and technical specifications for WASH and construction projects.
- Support in review and development of engineering designs using AutoCAD/ArchCAD/Revit or other design tools.
- Participate in field/project supervision for quality assurance, and progress monitoring of construction works (e.g., boreholes, tank platforms, sanitation facilities, school WASH infrastructure).
- Contribute to design, piloting, and adaptation of energy-efficient borehole pumping systems and innovative WASH technologies.
- Assist in measuring work progress for interim payments and verification of completed works.
- Contribute to the development of proposals, concept notes, budgets, and donor reports.
- Conduct desk and field research on WASH innovations, and sustainable construction practices.
- Assist in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes, including data collection, analysis, and documentation.
- Develop knowledge products (case studies, project briefs, presentations) to capture project achievements and lessons learned.
- Maintain an updated repository of technical and programmatic documents.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in civil engineering, with a focus on design, construction, and project management.
- Demonstrable experience in engineering design, including developing structural calculations, technical drawings (using AutoCAD or similar software), and detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Proven experience in the preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates for construction projects.
- Demonstrated skills in technical writing, research to support proposal development.
- Registered as a graduate Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya and Institution of Engineers of Kenya.
