Job Description :JOB TITLE: MECHANICAL FITTERAbout This Job:Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a man power management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Mechanical Fitter to work in Thika, KenyaJob Summary:The mechanical fitter will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting of mechanical problems of production machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding and commitment to safety.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Installation and Maintenance:· Install, maintain, and repair components of tobacco machinery and equipment.· Perform routine mechanical inspections, mechanical online tasks and preventive maintenance to ensure machines operates efficiently and safely.· Troubleshoot mechanical issues and repair or replace faulty components as needed.· Carry out equipment modifications and improvement as directed by the plant engineer.· Lubrication of the plant machinery regularly· Maintaining machine center-line e.g tracking of conveyor belts & maintaining winnowers and thresher speeds.· Operation of lathe machine & milling machine· Welding and fabrication· Resolve motor, conveyors & hydraulic problems· Scaffold erection & Performing work at height tasks· Inspection and maintenance of shakers, fans, gearbox, classifier & dryers.· Basket sharpening· Gutter installation2. Safety Compliance:· Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing mechanical work, including lockout/tag out LOTOTO procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.· Conduct safety inspections and recommend improvements to mitigate hazards.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:· Craft Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant/production Option) -KNEC.· At least 2 - 3 Years experience experience in a similar role.Key Outputs/Deliverables/KPIs· 1. Installation and Maintenance:· a) Reduced downtime through vigilant line manning· 2. Mechanical Systems:· a) Mean Time between Failures (MTBF) for mechanical components or systems.· b) Improvement in equipment reliability over time through equipment modification.· 3.Report Writing· Maintain accurate records of production activities and other issues arising and also prepare reports on the production line and performance and make recommendations for improvement·· 4.
