  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in store management or similar operational role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in inventory systems and operational reporting
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to store performance and staff engagement
  • Familiarity with stock control software and reporting tools
  • Registration of relevant professional body.
The positionThe Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu (AKHK) is an Institution of the Aga Khan Health Service, Kenya, which is an Agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. The Hospital is part of a network of health facilities, which includes Hospitals and Outreach Health Facilities across East Africa. The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is in an exciting growth phase and has attained acknowledgment of its quality by achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification, ISO 15189:2022 accreditation for laboratory services, Safe Care level 5 accreditation and is at advanced stage of attaining Joint Commission International Accreditation. AKHK has Outreach Health Services at Kisii, Kakamega, Kitale, Bungoma, Kericho, Kibuye-Kisumu, West End- Kisumu, Busia, Homa - Bay, Migori, Bomet, Eldoret, Kimilili, Nyamira and Kabarnet. The Hospital seeks to recruit a professional for the following position:SUPPLY CENTRES COORDINATOROVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Reporting to the Manager Material Management, the successful candidate be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of supply centers, including managing inventory, supervising staff, and ensuring safety, transparent and security protocols are followed.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to streamline workflow and minimize errors.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance productivity and customer service
  • Implement inventory management systems to accurately track stock levels, orders, and dispatch to satellite Medical surgical stores from main warehouse.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
  • Analyze inventory turnover, stock holding and slow-moving or obsolete items, expiries and develop strategies for optimization.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and motivation to the team, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff performance and ensure adherence to company policies
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, offering feedback and addressing any areas for improvement
  • Coordinate and oversee inbound shipments, ensuring all goods are received accurately and on time
  • Verify incoming stock for quality and quantity, and update inventory records accordingly
  • Ensure the safe and efficient storage of incoming goods to maintain stock availability, safety and prevent damage
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all staff
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, address hazards promptly, and ensure all safety concerns are resolved effectively
  • Provide ongoing safety training to staff to foster a culture of safety and awareness
