- Accurately dispense prescription and over the counter (OTC) medications
- Interpret prescriptions and verify legality and completeness as per PPB and Institutional guidelines
- Provide appropriate patient counselling on safe use of medication i.e. dosage, administration, storage and expected side effects.
- Promote rational use of medications and antimicrobial stewardship
- Engage the prescriber or follow the institutional laid procedure for any complex, ambiguous or challenging prescription or clinical query.
- Ensure all documentation utilized for patient care or stocks management are prepared, properly stored and shared as per institutional policy.
- Ensure adherence to institutional pharmacovigilance policy and procedures
- Ensure efficient stock management through close monitoring of stock levels and expiries and adhere to institutional policies.
- Support efficient and lean procurement process and receipt of stocks as per institutional policies
- Ensure storage of medications and other supplies as per the PPB and manufacturer recommended storage conditions.
- Ensure pharmacy operations minimize stock losses, pilferage and expiries.
- Ensure the institutional pharmacy sales and service targets are achieved
- Propose and participate in health promotion campaigns for the retail pharmacy
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
- Registered and Licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB)
- Valid annual Practicing License
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a retail pharmacy (preferred)
- Good knowledge of essential medications and knowledge of the pharmacy practice aligned with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
- Strong dispensing accuracy and ability to escalate complex clinical queries.
- Excellent Inventory management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ethical, integrity and professionalism
- Basic financial and Information Management system literacy, especially POS.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and ability to deliver on targets
