- To provide psychological support and therapeutical interventions to clients in areas related to the field of counselling & clinical psychology. This is in line with the overall institutional aims of providing quality care with compassion and within an ethical framework.
- Identify and diagnose psychological, emotional and behavioural issues
- Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes
- Help clients explore and identify goals and formulate action plans to achieve personal, social, educational and vocational development
- Monitor client progress through regular follow-up sessions
- Provide psychological Support to clients experiencing “life-issues such as trauma, end-of-life, illness, etc.
- Counselling for trauma/ grief and loss, acute and chronic illness, and mental health issues
- Support the employee-assisted program (EAP) of the HR department by providing staff with psychological support.
- Staff training and development: Conduct training activities within departments that contribute towards meeting the institutional & departmental goals
- Registration with the Ministry of Health in Kenya with a valid Practice Licence
- A master's degree in counselling/clinical psychology
- Theoretical education in counselling (e.g. Undergraduate in Counselling)
- Diploma or above in counselling/nursing in a medical context
- Additional training in fields that can complement the role of counselling (e.g. Trauma, chronic illness, death & dying)
- Minimum 2 years work experience
- Experience in a medical setting
- Knowledge of human emotional social and psychological challenges
- High ethical and moral principles -beyond reproach with a professional approach

- Receive, verify prescriptions and dispense drugs in a timely manner within approved standards and procedures.
- Contact the physician immediately for inaccuracy and illegibility in a prescription order, document errors and communicate them to the nursing and pharmacy staff
- Verify expiry dates of drugs prior to dispensing medication to patients/customers.
- Check that every label placed on the medications contains the correct patient name, drug, quantity and directions.
- Counsel patients on drug administration and use of devices for optimum wellness and recovery.
- Receive, return and update drug credits on the system in a timely manner.
- Communicate out of stock and non-stock effectively and timely to prescriber and nurse and provide alternative choice or make arrangements to order promptly.
- Comply and observe the environmental health and safety measures and regulations by proper handling, storage and dispensation of medications
- Record, monitor and update the expiry list of medications in timely manner.
- Complete documentation of Interventions, Medication errors and Near Miss, Adverse events, Medication queries, Patient complaints or any other incidents and forward to relevant office
- Perform random medication checks daily and Monitor variance levels in your respective satellites.
- Compile daily satellite reports.
- Carry out regular satellite stock-take exercise.
- Report any special indicators allocated.
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
- Registered with The Kenya Pharmaceutical Association
- Practicing License from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

- Valid Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

- Receive specimens for Microbiology testing.
- Maintain appropriate internal controls on all processes in Microbiology
