  • Partnership Building: Research, identify, and establish strategic partnerships with NGOs, governments, corporations, and key stakeholders to expand KickStart's reach and impact.
  • Resource Mobilization: Track and pursue funding opportunities from major donors, government bodies, and foundations in alignment with KickStart's programmatic objectives.
  • Proposal Development: Write persuasive concept notes and detailed proposals to secure multi-year funding for transformative projects.
  • Collaborative Strategy: Partner with regional and country teams to develop cohesive and localized fundraising strategies that leverage KickStart's strengths.
  • Agreement Facilitation: Lead negotiation and execution of partnership agreements, ensuring compliance with financial and legal standards.
  • Advocacy & Representation: Act as KickStart's voice at conferences and forums, advocating for resilient and sustainable smallholder farming practices.
  • Donor Reporting: Prepare accurate and compelling reports, meeting all partnership obligations and donor requirements.
Qualifications:
  • KickStart International is looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Extensive Experience: At least 10+ years in NGO, bilateral/multilateral organizations, or private sector roles focused on partnerships and resource mobilization.
  • Academic Excellence: Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a relevant field such as international relations, social sciences, political science, or public or business administration.
  • Proven Success: Track record of securing significant funding and establishing impactful partnerships. Experience developing partnerships with NGOs, bilateral or multilateral organizations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in English (French is a strong plus), with experience writing concept notes, proposals, and reports
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in dynamic &complex environments, adjusting strategies to meet evolving partnership needs, working collaboratively while demonstrating entrepreneurial thinking and independence.
  • Travel-Readiness: Open to frequent travel across sub-Saharan Africa and occasional trips to the U.S. and Europe.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated capacity to work independently and in teams.
