Lightup impact is an online community of +100 early-stage locally led non-profits, grassroots organizations, in gender & health in East AfricaProgram Coordinator and M&E OfficerAs a Program Coordinator and M&E Officer at Lightup Impact, you'll be responsible for managing and coordinating two main programs within our organization: capacity strengthening online and in-person trainings and networking events (public and private to our members). You will also be responsible for data collection and analysis based on pre-existing M&E frameworks.You'll collaborate directly with the program managers, our partners, and other stakeholders to plan and ensure the successful implementation and execution of these programs. You'll also play a vital role in facilitating meaningful engagement with stakeholders.Responsibilities and main tasks:Program implementation and coordination:
  • Coordinate logistics and administrative tasks related to program implementation, including scheduling meetings, sending emails to training or event participants and partners, and coordinating online Zoom meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, coordination, and collaboration throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the program manager to ensure the project workplan is smoothly implemented.
Stakeholder engagement and partnerships:
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with program participants, partners, donors, trainers, and other stakeholders through regular communication, engagement, and feedback mechanisms.
Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting:
  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of program data and performance indicators to assess progress, measure outcomes, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the program manager to monitor program activities and progress against targets, ensuring timely reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the communications team, providing content and performance data for quarterly or annual reports.
Your profile
  • Bachelor's degree or certification/diploma in a relevant field such as International Development, Social Sciences, Community Development, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Program Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 1-2 years of proven experience working in program coordination, project management, or related roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector or community development context.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build positive relationships.
  • Available to travel for in-person training activities within Kenya.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, and other relevant software applications.
  • Experience in working with a remote team and with digital program/project management software (e.g., Asana) and the Zoom platform is an advantage
