Our client, a multinational organization in the security sector, is seeking a to lead and manage all tax-related functions across its group of companies.This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with both local and international tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, managing tax risks, and supporting business growth from a tax perspective. The ideal candidate must have over 10 years of experience in tax management.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all direct and indirect tax matters for the group, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and customs duties.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations across jurisdictions in which the group operates (Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania).
  • Review and file tax returns, including consolidated group filings where applicable.
  • Oversee tax accounting and reporting, including deferred taxes, tax provisions, and disclosures in financial statements.
  • Manage tax audits and liaise with tax authorities and external consultants and develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the group's tax position.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations) on tax-related matters in projects.
  • Provide support to subsidiaries when dealing with revenue authorities on all matters relating to taxation.
  • Responsible for the tax side of budgets and forecasts.
  • Optimization of group and subsidiary taxation expenses by identifying areas of tax savings.
  • Review and oversee routine monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reconciliations across the group.
  • Conduct periodic internal tax health checks to proactively identify risks and ensure full compliance.
  • Liaise with and coordinate external tax advisors and consultants to ensure high-quality tax planning, compliance, and audit support.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls and governance around tax processes and documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax-related disclosures and provisions in management accounts and audited financial statements.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Must be CPA (K) or ACCA finalist
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Tax Administration is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 8 -10 years of experience in taxation, with at least 3 years in a managerial or group-level role.
  • Strong knowledge of international tax laws, transfer pricing, and tax treaties.
  • Proactive, self-motivated professional with a hands-on approach and a willingness to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders across geographies.
