- Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (B Pharm) from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Successfully completed one (l) year Internship from a recognized institution; and
- Registration Certificate by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board;
- Screen prescriptions for legal validity, drug contraindications, drug interactions, appropriateness of dose, frequency, duration of dosing, and patient convenience.
- Prepare and dispense medicines in accordance with Good Dispensing Practices (GDP).
- Counsel patients on the correct use of medicines.
- Make extemporaneous preparations as required.
- Participate in ward rounds to provide pharmaceutical expertise.
- Identify medicinal gaps and challenges in patient care and drug availability.
- Maintain a daily activity logbook to record all activities undertaken.
- Recommend Over-the-Counter (OTC) medicines to patients or clients with simple medical conditions and make necessary referrals.
- Make accurate entries into the relevant inventory management records and registers.
