Our work is rooted in the idea that hardworking people can generate income, jobs and wealth for their famil…Senior Contract AnalystThe Senior Contracts Analyst will be responsible for managing all contract-related activities under the Inclusive Retail Market Access program. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with partners, ensuring legal compliance, minimizing risk, and aligning agreements with donor and organizational policies. Support in resolution of any issues related to contract terms and obligations and provide clear communication and guidelines on contract matters. Facilitate smooth collaboration to support the timely execution of contracts and address any emerging legal or operational challenges.The role requires strong attention to detail, understanding of legal frameworks, and the ability to support smooth operational relationships with retailers, suppliers, and consultants.Primary Functions & Responsibilities:Contract Drafting and Review
  • Draft, review, and revise program contracts, MOUs, and agreements with suppliers, retailers, and consultants.
  • Ensure alignment with internal templates, donor guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a clear record of executed agreements and support their implementation with relevant teams.
Risk Management and Compliance
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks within contractual obligations and terms.
  • Support compliance with TechnoServe and AGRA procurement, legal, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor contract execution timelines, amendments, and performance milestones.
Contract Negotiation and Advisory
  • Facilitate contract negotiations in coordination with technical leads and stakeholders.
  • Advise program staff on contractual rights, obligations, and terms.
  • Provide legal and operational input on emerging contract issues to resolve disputes or prevent delays.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contracts, procurement, or legal advisory roles, with a Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with donor-funded contracts, particularly in development or market systems programs.
  • Knowledge of East African legal frameworks and commercial law.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong legal writing and analytical capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to interpret legal language and risk implications.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
