- Conducts research on materials options available per project & costing methods to identify cost-saving opportunities, especially in material options and usage;
- Prepare and negotiate project budgets, contracts, and cost plans for various construction projects, including fit-outs, renovations, and interior design projects.
- Conduct thorough take-offs, quantity calculations, and detailed cost estimations based on architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
- Continuously monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints;
- ERP System Proficiency (SAP Business One)
- Uploads summarized costings into the SAP system and ensures data accuracy.
- Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and Specifications:
- Develop and review accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and technical specifications in alignment with project requirements;
- Ensure that all cost data is precise and reflective of current market rates and construction techniques.
- Project Scope Analysis;
- Understands project scopes and provides guidance to the Commercial teams on project executability and associated costs;
- Assist with the valuation of variations to the original scope of work, ensuring that these adjustments are accurately reflected in the project's financial reports.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for invoicing and progress payments.
- Collaboration with Technical Teams
- Works closely with technical teams to generate detailed Bills of Materials and corresponding costs required for each project/ Scope.
- Risk Analysis and Management:
- Identify and assess potential cost risks and resource constraints that could affect project timelines and budgets.
- Propose effective mitigation strategies and ensure the team implements cost-effective solutions.
- Advise project managers on potential cost-saving alternatives and manage financial risks on-site.
- Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, MQS) are a significant advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a proven track record in cost estimation, budgeting, and contract management.
- Experience in managing interior design and construction projects, including fit-outs, renovations, and new builds, is essential;
- In-depth knowledge of measurement techniques, costing practices, and quantity surveying methodologies;
