Resubmit your Resume Today.We have started building our professional LinkedIn page.Job DescriptionWaste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Centre (WEEE Centre) offers the services of awareness creation (training) and safe disposal of electrical and electronic waste (e-Waste), per NEMA waste regulations and WEEE regulations that are protective of both the environment and public healthAbout this roleThe Project Accountant will primarily be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of a projects as they progress. They will be expected to examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to provide financial statements, give advice, or audit and evaluate statements prepared by others. They will support in these aspects, administrative and operational support to the project implementation team; financial resources management; procurement, and logistical services, in support of the elaboration of project-related Terms of Reference while maintaining project documentation.Essential Functions:Providing support to project implementation, guaranteeing quality, efficiency and effectiveness
  • To provide business partnering and support to teams, including providing technical finance assistance for the projects assigned;
  • Working with the Finance and Project teams, prepare interim and final financial project reports as they fall due;
  • Support the Finance team in attending promptly to all queries during project and statutory audits;
  • Oversee all accounting related functions for assigned projects;
  • Manage invoices, payments, and compliance for assigned projects;
  • Have an understanding of compliance requirements for assigned projects;
  • Supports the elaboration of projects related to Terms of Reference;
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Supporting the projects in articulation with the Project Manager
  • Process vendor invoices for payments accurately and within assigned timeline;
  • Collect and track compliance documents;
  • Generate project related audit reviews and any other required reports;
  • Other related duties as assigned.
RequirementsQualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, or similar business degree.
  • Minimum 2 years' prior experience working as an accountant or bookkeeper.
  • Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor payments.
  • Key competencies are Communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability.
Person Specification
  • Experience of working as part of a busy accounting function.
  • Determined and assertive and proactive; prepared to get into the detail to understand the problem and help find solutions.
  • Extensive experience of project accounting and donor reporting.
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel and major accounting packages.
  • Good time management skills, ability to prioritize workload and ability to work to strict deadlines.
