The role involves designing and implementing a curriculum that harnesses the natural surroundings to facilitate holistic learning experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a teaching credential or a degree in early childhood development or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates with training in nature-based, Montessori, or Waldorf education methodologies. The successful candidate will enjoy the rural setting and take advantage of outdoor recreation opportunities, as well as the social environment in nearby Nanyuki, Kenya.Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a tailored curriculum that integrates nature-based learning experiences.
Provide personalized instruction to meet the individual learning needs of each pupil.
Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies, including Montessori or Waldorf principles, to engage and inspire pupils.
Assess pupil progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with parents to support the children’s educational journey and address any concerns.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices.
Requirements:
Teaching credential or a degree in early childhood development or a related field.
Must have 5 years experience home-schooling primary school children.
Familiarity with nature-based, Montessori, or Waldorf education methodologies preferred.
Passion for outdoor education and utilizing natural surroundings for learning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Adaptability and creativity in designing and implementing curriculum activities.
Ability to thrive in a rural setting and embrace outdoor recreation opportunities.
