- Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
- Responsible for accurate and timely book-keeping of the Company and sister companies.
- Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
- Coordinate with finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
- Generate financial reports and statements to management for review.
- Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
- Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
- Ensure tax returns are filed on a timely basis.
- Partner with wider teams to ensure proper understanding of financial requirements.
- Preparation of regulatory returns for the Company and sister companies.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with at least 3 years in a reputable audit or accountancy firm. Industry experience particularly the financial services sector is an advantage.
- Extensive accounting and/or tax experience (particularly Kenyan VAT) for more than 5 years.
- Preferably an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Math's, Statistics, Business or Economics.
- Accountancy qualifications, i.e. CPA, ACCA - qualified or nearing completion
- Well-conversant with IFRS financial statements.
- Knowledge of taxation of various African countries will be an advantage.
- Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
- Expertise working with XEROS.
- Consistent, accurate, and thorough with an eye for details.
- Ability to resolve complex problems within strict time constraints.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and in teams.
- Able to work well with other team members across cultures.
