This is a senior, business-critical role where you'll lead the charge in building reliable, seamless, and scalable payment solutions that power the customer experience. If you’re a payments pro who understands the local landscape and can deliver at pace, we want to hear from you.Your key job responsibilities as the Head of Payments in Nairobi, Kenya will include:

Owning the full payments ecosystem, from strategy and partner management to compliance and operational execution.
Driving the development and optimisation of local payment methods to ensure smooth and secure transactions for users.
Managing relationships with banks, PSPs, mobile money providers, and regulatory stakeholders.
Leading the day-to-day operations of the payments function, ensuring reliability, speed, and cost-efficiency.
Collaborating closely with product, risk, finance, and tech teams to ensure payments are fully integrated into the platform.
Monitoring performance, resolving issues, and constantly improving the payments experience through innovation and insight.
Staying ahead of regulatory developments and market trends in the payments space, especially across the East African region.

Requirements for this Head of Payments job in Nairobi, Kenya:

5+ years of experience in a senior payments role within fintech, iGaming, or e-commerce.
Deep understanding of the Kenyan payments ecosystem, including mobile money and banking infrastructure.
Strong operational know-how – you know how to get things done on the ground and lead cross-functional coordination.
Demonstrated success in building and scaling payment solutions in fast-moving environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Comfortable working in a start-up culture: fast-paced, hands-on, and full of potential.
