Temporary Research Support Assistant at World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)

- Assist in sample preparation, processing, and storage (e.g., drying, grinding, packaging)
- Enter sample data accurately into spreadsheets or databases
- Assist in inventory management of lab and field supplies related to sample processing
- Support field teams with sample collection logistics when needed
- Report any inconsistencies, damages, or missing information to supervisors promptly
- Any other related tasks from the supervisor.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks within your work area
- Take reasonable care of own occupational health and safety and that of others as obliged by CIFOR-ICRAF's Occupational Health and Safety Policy and cooperate with CIFOR-ICRAF in complying with requirements under any statutory health and safety provisions of relevant Country laws.
- Observe the CIFOR ICRAF Intellectual Properties (IP) and Data protection policies when generating, updating, using, and accessing the Soils Theme data in the LIMS, Databases and Data verse.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks within the laboratory environment.
- Liaise and regularly communicate with Laboratory Technician - Sample Reception Officer on issues at the sample reception.
- Certificate in Science Laboratory Technology or Applied Science with at least 4 yrs. experience in chemistry laboratory work or Diploma in Laboratory Science Technology or Applied Science course with 1 yr. experience
- Good laboratory practice analytical skills
- Proficiency in ICT
- Demonstrable oral and written communication skills.
