  • Assist in sample preparation, processing, and storage (e.g., drying, grinding, packaging)
  • Enter sample data accurately into spreadsheets or databases
  • Assist in inventory management of lab and field supplies related to sample processing
  • Support field teams with sample collection logistics when needed
  • Report any inconsistencies, damages, or missing information to supervisors promptly
  • Any other related tasks from the supervisor.
Other Responsibilities
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks within your work area
  • Take reasonable care of own occupational health and safety and that of others as obliged by CIFOR-ICRAF's Occupational Health and Safety Policy and cooperate with CIFOR-ICRAF in complying with requirements under any statutory health and safety provisions of relevant Country laws.
  • Observe the CIFOR ICRAF Intellectual Properties (IP) and Data protection policies when generating, updating, using, and accessing the Soils Theme data in the LIMS, Databases and Data verse.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks within the laboratory environment.
  • Liaise and regularly communicate with Laboratory Technician - Sample Reception Officer on issues at the sample reception.
Requirements
  • Certificate in Science Laboratory Technology or Applied Science with at least 4 yrs. experience in chemistry laboratory work or Diploma in Laboratory Science Technology or Applied Science course with 1 yr. experience
  • Good laboratory practice analytical skills
  • Proficiency in ICT
  • Demonstrable oral and written communication skills.
