On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Quality Chemist – Dock Lab to work in, Kenya.
Job Summary
The overall purpose of the job is to conduct qualitative and quantitative tests at the Dock Lab to ensure that the company maintains compliance with both internal and external product and processing standards to minimise losses from contamination, spoilage, rejection and or penalties/fines from regulatory authorities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- The job holder has no responsibility for equipment, finances or stock except for the work tools assigned
- The job holder has no final authority on key decisions in the department other than routine decisions related to execution of work and provides recommendations to facilitate final decisions
- The jobholder has access to confidential information.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in diary processing operations.
- Laboratory science skills
- Quality sampling and testing skills
- Knowledge of milk processing operations.
- Practical knowledge in milk handling
- Root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Analytical skills
- Good clerical and record keeping skills
- Ability to work as a team
- Effective communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work for long hours with minimal supervision
