Narok County Government was formed by the County Governments Act of 2012 as prescribed in the 2010 Constitution of Kenya. It is one of the 47 devolved units situated in the Great Rift Valley in the Southern part of the Country where it boarders the republic of Tanzania. Narok County has its headquarters in Narok Town, off Narok Nakuru Road. Narok County comprises of six (6) sub-counties namely: Narok North, Narok West, Narok East, Narok South, Transmara East and Transmara West.

TERMS OF SERVICE: Permanent and Pensionable
SALARY SCALE: Ksh 32,700 X 1,300 – 34,000 X 1,380 – 35,380 X 1,390 – 36,770 X1,460- 38,230 X 1,470 – 39,700 X 1,470 – 41,170 X 1,520 – 42,690 per monthDuties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the crime section at a station/outpost and map high-conflict or poachingareasRecord, investigate and forward cases to police for prosecution
  • Maintain inventory of lost and found property
  • Provide guidance to investigating officers
  • Supervise communication (signals and radio rooms)
  • Oversee and supervise deployment of officers
  • Liaise with government agencies on security matters
  • Ensure maintenance of county government vehicles and assets
  • Keep operational records and submit timely reports and correspondences
  • Execute personnel and administrative duties including morning call-ups andeveningbriefs
  • Assist members of the public, coordinate raids, ambushes and special operationsConduct orderly room proceedings and serve as the orderly officer
  • Collect and analyze intelligence
  • Maintain custody of exhibits, records and installations
  • Respond to distress calls and conduct night rounds
  • Support other security providers and manage disposal of expired ammunitionInvestigate crimes, apprehend offenders and coordinate community policinginitiativesConduct beats, patrols and attend court sessions where necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must:
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields:
  • Wildlife Management, Environmental Management, Forestry, TourismManagement, Environmental Science, Botany and Zoology, Ecology, Counselling and Psychology, Animal Health, Criminology, Law, RiskandDisaster Management, Government and Public Administration, HumanResource Management, or equivalent from a recognized institutionBe a Kenyan citizen
  • Possess a valid National Identification Card
  • Have no criminal record
  • Present a valid Certificate of Good Conduct
  • Be aged 22-30 years (for new recruits)
  • (If serving) Hold the rank of Ranger or Corporal
  • Be at least 5 feet 4 inches tall for men, and 5 feet 2 inches tall for women
  • Be physically and medically fit
  • Have good hearing and clear vision
  • Female candidates must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment or duringtrainingBe proficient in computer applications
  • Satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 on Leadership and Integrity and Article 232 on Values and Principles of Public Service
