The Accounts Assistant – Payables will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, reconciliations, and payments. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable ManagementReceive, verify, and process supplier invoices and payment requestsEnsure all invoices are properly approved and supported by relevant documentationPrepare and process payments (EFTs, cheques, mobile payments) in a timely mannerReconciliations & ReportingPerform regular supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesMaintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable recordsAssist in preparing accounts payable reports, aging reports, and schedulesVendor ManagementMaintain supplier records and ensure accurate data entry in the systemRespond to vendor queries and resolve payment issues professionallyBuild and maintain good relationships with suppliersCompliance & ControlsEnsure adherence to internal controls, policies, and financial proceduresSupport audit processes by providing required documentationEnsure compliance with statutory and tax requirements (e.g., VAT where applicable)General Finance SupportAssist in month-end closing processes related to payablesSupport other accounting functions as required by the finance teamRequirementsDiploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA Part II (or ongoing) is requiredMinimum 2–3 years’ experience in an accounts payable or finance roleExperience using accounting systems/ERP is requiredStrong proficiency in Microsoft ExcelKey CompetenciesHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong organizational and time management skillsGood analytical and problem-solving abilityIntegrity and ability to handle confidential informationEffective communication and interpersonal skills
