- Bachelor’s degree in Building Economics, Quantity Surveying, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Must be registered as a Graduate Member of either the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) or the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK
- Prepare cost estimates for construction and maintenance projects
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for tendering and procurement purposes
- Conduct monthly valuations of work done on site for interim payment certificates
- Carry out site remeasurements to verify quantities of completed work
- Prepare and process variation orders arising from scope or design changes
- Assist in tender evaluation and contract documentation
- Monitor project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets
- Prepare cost reports and advise on cost control strategies
- Participate in site meetings and provide technical input on cost matters
- Verify contractor claims and recommend payment based on work progress
- Assist in the preparation of final accounts at project completion.
- Maintain updated records of project financials and correspondence
- Support procurement planning by providing accurate quantity and cost data
- Liaise with project consultants, contractors, and suppliers on cost-related issues
- Assist in preparation and review of contract documents and specifications
- Ensure compliance with relevant procurement laws, building codes, and regulations
- Monitor material usage and wastage on site to enhance cost efficiency
- Provide input into value engineering exercises to optimize project cost
- Prepare periodic progress and financial reports for management review.
- Assist in risk analysis and preparation of mitigation cost plans
- Plan, monitor and evaluate performance of staff against the set targets
