- -Resubmit your Resume Today.We have started building our professional LinkedIn page.Job DescriptionThe Kenya National Examinations Council (also referred to as KNEC or the Council) was established in 1980 under the Kenya National Examinations Council Act Cap 225A of the Laws of Kenya. This Act (Cap 225A of 1980) was repealed in 2012 and replaced with KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012.The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:
  • Liaising with consultants, resource persons, and other stakeholders on education and assessment matters;
  • Implementing performance management system in the division;
  • Coordinating research programmes in the division;
  • Identification, coordinating and managing the development of course content for training;
  • Identification, coordination and managing resource centre personnel;
  • Coordinating and managing educational assessment and training;
  • Developing department's work plan and budget;
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual divisional reports;
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of an effective staff performance management system;
  • Ensuring development and implementation of the training and development plan;
  • Managing human, financial, and material resources assigned to the division;
  • Collaborating with process owners and user departments to ensure delivery of quality goods and services;
  • Promoting adherence to the Intellectual Property Rights policy.
Person SpecificationFor appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
  • At least ten (10) years cumulative relevant work experience, four (4) of which should have served at supervisory level;
  • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Education, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Research or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Education, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Planning, Project Management or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications;
  • Demonstrated merit in work performance;
  • Membership to a professional body;
  • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya only for the successful applicants.
