• Diploma in Medical Engineering or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Shown merit as reflected in work performance and results.

• Undertake preventive maintenance and repairs of medical/hospital equipment, plants, furniture and instruments; carry out repairs of health facilities and utilities;
• Order for spare parts and consumables
• Maintain inventory of medical/hospital equipment, furniture and plants;
• Collate and compile information for research;
• Collate and compile information on medical engineering services for input into the Health information management system; and
• Implement medical engineering programmes and projects.
