- Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and key stakeholders in the healthcare and local community sectors.
- Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media advisories, and public statements about hospital services, achievements, events, and initiatives.
- Serve as the primary media contact and spokesperson for the hospital when required.
- Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and media visits to the hospital.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare regular media monitoring reports for management.
- Manage crisis communications and develop rapid response strategies for sensitive situations.
- Respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Create engaging content (graphics, videos, posts, stories) that educates, informs, and promotes hospital services and eye health awareness.
- Manage the hospital’s social media calendar and ensure consistent, timely posting.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and reviews on all digital platforms.
- Analyze social media metrics and provide regular performance reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Manage paid social media advertising campaigns to promote specific services or events.
- Maintain and update the hospital’s website content.
- Develop marketing campaigns for patient engagement and health education.
- Produce high-quality written and visual content including blog posts, patient success stories, health tips, and educational materials.
- Ensure all communications maintain brand consistency and align with the hospital’s values and messaging.
- Photograph and document hospital events, activities, and patient success stories (with appropriate consent).
- Create and manage a content library of approved images, videos, and templates.
- Develop newsletters and other communication materials for internal and external audiences.
- Support the Marketing Supervisor in developing annual PR and digital marketing strategies.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging digital marketing opportunities.
- Prepare monthly reports on PR activities, media coverage, and digital marketing performance.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including reach, engagement, website traffic, and lead generation.
- Manage the PR and digital marketing budget efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in PR, media relations, or digital marketing (healthcare experience is an advantage).
- Proven track record of successful media placements and social media campaigns.
- Experience managing multiple social media platforms and creating diverse content types.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Swahili proficiency is an advantage).
- Strong media relations skills with existing media contacts preferred
- Digital marketing expertise including social media management, content creation, and analytics
- Graphic design skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms
- Photography and basic video editing skills for content creation.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite)
- Understanding of Google Analytics, social media analytics, and reporting tools
- Knowledge of healthcare marketing regulations and patient privacy (HIPAA/data protection principles).

- CapCut / InShot for short-form videos.
- Adobe Premiere Pro / After Effects where licenses are available.
- Ability to adapt to licensed tools provided by the organization.
- Knowledge of healthcare marketing regulations and data protection.

- Established network of media contacts in Kenya.
- Experience with paid advertising platforms (Facebook Ads, Google Ads).
- Video production and editing skills.
- Experience with website content management systems.
- Standard office hours with occasional evening or weekend work for events.
- May require travel within Nairobi for community events and media engagements.
- Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and adaptability.
