We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Lead Mentor to join our leadership team. This role will focus on supporting teachers and students across the school with responsibilities that include strengthening teacher practice through coaching, evaluating, improving and implementation of processes across the team and classes, and working in partnership with parents and caregivers.Key Responsibilities.
- Strengthening teacher practice through effective coaching and evaluation.
- Mentor and coach teachers through observation, reflection, and professional dialogue
- Support new teacher on-boarding and ongoing faculty development
- Improving and implementing evaluative processes across the team and classes.
- Co-lead faculty meetings and collegial processes
- Working in partnership with parents and caregivers to foster a supportive educational environment.
- Role Flexibility: There will be some flexibility in the responsibilities of this position. Duties will be shaped and negotiated with the successful candidate to best meet the needs of the school and the individual.
- Administrative Support: The position will involve a number of administrative tasks including teacher appraisals and student assessment.
- Collaboration and Mentorship: As an integral member of the wider leadership team, the Lead Mentor will work closely alongside the heads of each Community of Practice, acting as both mentor and coach.
- Ideal Candidate Profile: This dynamic role is suited to an educator with strong leadership capacity and good communication and interpersonal skills. Ideally they should have taken a class through from Class 1 to Class 8 at least two times.
- Master's Degree in Education, Education Administration and Curriculum Planning (added advantage).
- Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education or equivalent qualification.
- A Diploma in Waldorf / Steiner Education is an added advantage.
- Registered with Teachers Service Commission is Compulsory.
- Excellent in both verbal and writing skills with demonstrated experience of both.
- An assertive and ethical team player with practical knowledge of pedagogical systems and processes and the ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Strong grounding in child development and developmentally appropriate practice.
- Collaborative leadership style and an ability to collaborate with diverse faculty and staff.
- Effective and empathetic communication with teachers, parents, and administration.
