nder the Water Act of 2016 the mandate of the Coast Water Works Development Agency is to develop and maintain sustainable water and sanitation infrastructure within the Coast region. The main transmission pipelines, including Mzima, Baricho, Marere and Tiwi – Likoni lines are maintained by the CWWDA. Pipeline patrols are critical in ensuring that leaks and bursts are detected and attended to on time to avoid wastage of the resources.Inspector, Mechanical ITerms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Basic Salary: Kshs. (49,572 – 69,858) per month

Job SpecificationDuties and responsibilities will entail:
  • Inspecting and evaluating machinery, plants and motor vehicles;
  • Maintaining machinery, motor vehicles and plants;
  • Verifying spare parts for motor vehicles and machinery upon purchase and utilization;
  • Testing of mechanical equipment;
  • Designing and modifying plant components;
  • Developing design drawings and specifications for machinery or mechanical equipment;
  • Recommending necessary repairs on motor vehicles and machinery;
  • Preparing progress reports on mechanical inspections; and
  • Guiding and counseling staff.
Person SpecificationsFor appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
  • Served in the grade of Inspector, Mechanical II for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
