- Event Preparation (On-site| May - June 2026)
- Assist in preparing participant lists, invitations, and logistics trackers
- Support development of communication materials (short briefs, speaker bios, social media content)
- Help organise event materials (agendas, name badges, printed folders)
- Coordinate regularly with the Europe-based intern to align on tasks and progress
- Event Delivery (On-site in Nairobi | End of June / Early July 2026)
- Provide full on-site support during the event:
- Registration desk management
- Welcoming participants and guiding logistics
- Coordinating with vendors, AV, and catering as needed
- Assist with note-taking during sessions (lecture, panels, masterclass)
- Support documentation of the event (photos, short summaries, quotes)
- Communications & Documentation
- Draft short daily summaries or highlights of discussions
- Assist with social media posts, newsletters, or event coverage
- Compile key insights from sessions in accessible, non-technical language
- Research & Learning Support
- Conduct light background research on:
- Climate change and displacement
- Health and migration themes
- Support the preparation of briefing notes or summaries for internal use
- Post-Event Tasks
- Assist in organising event outputs: notes, photos, and participant feedback
- Contribute to a short event report or blog-style summary
- Provide written reflections or lessons learned as part of the pilot evaluation
- Session notes and summaries
- Contributions to communication outputs (social media, short write-ups)
- Support for the final event documentation/report
- Written reflection on the internship experience.
- Preparation (Onsite from Kenya): May-June 2026
- Event (full-time) in Nairobi
- Post-event wrap-up: in Nairobi – 1-2 weeks after the event
- A Samuel Hall team member (primary supervisor)
- With exposure to AKU partners and event organisers
- Weekly check-ins will be held to review progress, agree on upcoming tasks, and align with event priorities. The intern will also coordinate closely with the Europe-based intern on a regular basis.
- An ongoing undergraduate student (final year preferred), based in Nairobi, Kenya
- Strong interest in global issues, climate change, migration, or displacement
- Good writing and communication skills in English
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-level event environment
- Organised, proactive, and eager to learn
