HCS Affiliates Group, is a one-stop human resources and management consultancy organization, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.Chief AccountantOur client seeks to recruit a Chief AccountantOverall, Purpose of the Job:
  • To manage the company accounting processes and related operational activities. Responsible for producing accurate financial statements and reports, which are crucial for decision-making processes. The role holder will also provide leadership for the Accounts Department Team
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide financial reports as required within agreed deadlines
  • Analyse and review company budgets and expenditure
  • Support the establishment, modification, documentation and coordinate the implementation of accounting processes and procedures
  • Prepare and review company budget, revenue, expense, invoices and other accounting documents
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Recommend, develop and maintain accounting data bases and manual filing systems
  • To assume responsibility for the day to day running and supervision of the accounts department
  • Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for company automated financial systems
  • Ensure monthly closures are within agreed deadlines
  • Provide accounting policy and procedures orientation for new staff
  • Preparation of month-end trial balances and management accounts
  • Preparation of management reports as required by management
  • Managing team activity to ensure the smooth running of the Department.
  • Ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures including regulatory requirements
  • Ensure client and company confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • Review procedures and practices on-going basis for opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by Management
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Management or relevant field.
  • At least 7 years' experience in similar role preferably with a proven record of achievement
  • Must have a Certified Public Accountant (CPAK) license in good standing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
