Requirements for appointments
  • Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years experience;
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive and register patients
  • Book and file appointments for patients to specialty clinics and consultants
  • Store and retrieve medical records
  • Prepare clinics for daily operations
  • Update the bed bureau
  • Edit patient case records
  • Capture data from service points
  • Maintain record safety and confidentiality
  • Balance daily bed returns
  • Prepare and maintain the Patient Master Index
  • Create and update the Patient Master Index
  • Direct patients to relevant clinics
  • Schedule patients to consultants and specialty clinics
  • Assign codes to diseases and surgical procedures
  • Index diseases and surgical procedures according to the International Classification of Diseases and Procedures in Medicine
  • Compile medical records reports
