Our client is a private water operator committed to delivering 24/7 access to clean water across Sub-Saharan Africa. Leveraging smart technology and strong local operations, they install and manage water systems that serve underserved communities. They are currently seeking to recruit a to lead and nurture strategic relationships with senior County Government officials, regulatory authorities, and international partners.The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the WASH sector, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with high-level stakeholdersKey Responsibilities:
Develop and sustain productive, professional relationships with senior County Government officials, National Government authorities, regulators, international donors, and other critical stakeholders.
Serve as the primary liaison between the Company and senior external stakeholders, ensuring consistent, clear communication and mutual understanding.
Manage licensing and tariff applications with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance.
Manage contractual relationships with government entities, partners, and third-party institutions.
Provide regular and transparent updates to Counties and partners on project milestones, progress, and key outcomes.
Explore new funding opportunities and partnerships to support the Company growth and sustainability.
Lead strategic negotiations and engagements with existing and potential funders and partners.
Represent the Company at high-level industry forums, conferences, and workshops to enhance visibility and influence within the sector.
Support the strategic planning and execution of advocacy campaigns and stakeholder engagement activities.
Qualifications:
Relevant Bachelor's Degree.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, significant WASH sector experience is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years private sector experience is strongly preferred but not essential.
Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement with senior government officials, regulators, funders, and other relevant organisations.
Experience with the WASH regulatory landscape in Kenya
Understanding and strong support for the Company's operational model.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis capabilities.
Ability to prepare and present clear, concise, and compelling presentations and reports.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and policies relevant to the water sector in Kenya.
