Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
  • Have a Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B;Ch.B) degree recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
  • Have successfully finished one (1) year Internship Programme;
  • Be registered by MP&DB;
  • Have a valid practicing license; and
  • Be computer literate.
Roles and Responsibilities;
  • Diagnose, care and treat clients;
  • Perform medical and surgical procedures;
  • Prepare and respond to emergencies and disasters;
  • Participate in management of medicines, medical instruments and equipment;
  • Provide health education;
  • Teach and coach medical students, nursing students and clinical officer interns; and
  • Prepare clinical documents for legal and medical purposes.
