As Sales Manager (m/f/d), East Africa, you will take the lead in driving sales performance and accelerating growth across a fast-growing region. You’ll develop and execute strategies that exceed ambitious targets while leading and motivating a team of Sales and Technical professionals to deliver outstanding results. This high-impact role reports to the Sales Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, based in South Africa.What you will do:
  • Lead and inspire a team of Sales Representatives and Technical experts, building capability, embedding company values, and driving adoption of best-in-class selling techniques.
  • Deliver growth by achieving sales, volume, and profit targets in East and West Africa, expanding Ingredion’s market share with existing and new customers, and spearheading geographical expansion.
  • Manage key accounts and distributors, identifying opportunities, negotiating effectively, and strengthening stakeholder networks to ensure profitable, long-term growth.
  • Oversee pricing and contracts to deliver competitive, value-driven agreements that maximize returns for Ingredion and our customers.
  • Coordinate resources across functions such as supply chain, customer service, technical, finance, and marketing to deliver excellent customer experiences and efficient execution of sales pipelines.
  • Drive innovation and customer focus by acting as the voice of the customer, accelerating adoption of new products, and identifying emerging trends and growth opportunities.
  • Oversee site operations including forecasting, inventory management, accounts receivable, project management, and holding Power of Attorney responsibilities.
  • The assigned Customers are currently in East Africa region, as well as Nigeria and Ghana. The region may can change depending on business needs or strategy.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Solid commercial, sales, and business development experience in the B2B food ingredients industry
  • Strong commercial and business strategy acumen
  • Proven track record in leading, developing, and motivating technical service and/or sales teams
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Sound understanding of food processes and formulations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numeracy skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout West and East Africa to visit customers and Ingredion sites
