Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Sales/Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the sales and operational teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s overarching goals and objectives.
  • Sales Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains across all sales functions, from order fulfillment to inventory management.
  • Vendor and Partner Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and partners to optimize service levels, negotiate contracts, and drive operational excellence.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing operational team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of operational processes and teams, and drive accountability for results.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, and develop strategies to mitigate operational risks effectively.
We are looking for someone with:Core requirements to perform responsibilities:
  • Work experience in a fast-growing tech startup and/or launching new products in a larger organization.
  • Strong knowledge of the eCommerce and shipping market in Africa.
  • Able to lead and scale up 10x a cross-functional team.
  • Able to build HR, Finance and Ops functions.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail even under pressure and tight deadlines.
Bonus points/nice to have
  • Work experience with eCommerce and/or logistics in Africa/Middle East.
  • MBA degree
