-Resubmit your Resume Today.We have started building our professional LinkedIn page.Job DescriptionThe Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) is a 100% state-owned corporation incorporated on 2nd December, 2008 under the Company's Act, Cap 486 as a State Corporation pursuant to the Sessional Paper No. 4 of 2004 on Energy.REF: KET/5/1C/40/208/VOL I - B (04/24) ON PERMANENT & PENSIONABLE TERMSReporting to the Senior Human Resource OfficerJob purposeThis Job is responsible for timely and accurate salary and pension administration.Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and updating compensation database
  • Compiling accurate pay slips and ensuring all data for payroll is prepared
  • Participating in review of payroll software
  • Processing of pension benefits in accordance with the Trust Deeds and Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) rules and regulations
  • Providing an interface between KETRACO and pension scheme administrators, fund managers and custodians of staff superannuation funds
  • Processing SAP Payroll and interfacing the system with Finance General Ledger
  • Facilitating and overseeing prompt submission of the monthly payroll to Finance ensuring staff are paid by 25th day of every month
  • Processing staff benefits such as loans, advances, allowances, terminal benefits and any other approved staff claims
  • Assessing staff eligibility to qualify for staff loans, bank loans, advances and making the necessary recommendations
  • Undertaking reviewing of proposals from potential banks for personal lending to staff and recommending for further managerial action
  • Processing all statutory deductions like P.A.Y.E, N.S.S.F., N.H.I.F. and Pension through the monthly payroll and ensuring prompt remittance
  • Recovering terminal dues overpayments, money incurred or any other resources from staff due to KETRACO
  • Extracting KETRACO annual P.A.Y.E. returns in accordance with Income Tax Department requirements
  • Preparing annual staff status reports for National Employment Authority, Salaries & Remuneration Commission
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and assisting in payroll audits
  • Facilitating the remittance of both members' contributions to the fund managers and assisting in preparation of timely annual pension accounts
  • Reporting changes in the pension fund membership to pension administrators
  • Maintaining and ensuring safe custody and confidentiality of member's records
  • Sensitizing members on pension matters
  • Implementing key Board and Management decisions like Salary Reviews
  • Participating in the development and implementation of compensation and benefit related policies and procedures
  • Preparing ad hoc reports for Management's decision making
  • Assisting in budget preparation and administration
Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or BCOM, Finance
  • Registered member of Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
  • Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K)
  • Post graduate diploma in Human Resource HRM or CHRP Certificate
  • Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks
  • Minimum of three (3) years of SAP-HCM (payroll) version 7.0 experience
  • Experience in SAP-BI and analytical skills will be an added advantage
Working Condition:
  • Office setting and field visits
