
EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR

- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing and water treatment systems, including but not limited to water softeners, filtration systems, pumps, pipes, and fixtures.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly and efficiently.
- Track and document installed systems incidents & outages and initiate root cause analysis.
- Provide technical support and assistance to customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Lubricates pumps, valves, and other parts, repairs various equipment.
- Skims grease, pumps sludge, and transfers sludge from sludge tanks to drying beds.
- Maintains logs, records, and reports related to the work.
- Performs related work and other tasks as assigned.
- Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates to regulate the flow of wastewater through treatment processes.
- Cleans equipment and disposes of waste byproducts.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, water treatment processes, and related equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, and controls.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Knowledge of the methods, procedures, and equipment used in wastewater testing.
- Knowledge of techniques in the field of wastewater treatment.
- Ability to operate and repair wastewater treatment plant equipment.
- Ability to take and record chemical tests.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports related to the work.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate the work of the unit.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to train and oversee the work of others.
