- Reporting to the Head of Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical care in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He/She will be expected to be an active member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team at the hospital and to contribute to the hospital’s continuing professional development programmes
- Provide safe, high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care across inpatient and outpatient, emergency services.
- Participate in emergency and on-call duties in line with departmental rotas.
- Contribute to the growth and expansion of obstetric and gynaecological services in alignment with hospital strategy.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, clinical audit, and morbidity and mortality review activities.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care.
- Support medical education, continuous professional development, and mentorship of junior doctors, interns and other hospital staff.
- Maintain professional, ethical, and regulatory standards in clinical practice and documentation.
- M.Med in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a recognized university.
- Specialist Recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners' and Dentists' Board
- Registered, licensed and retained by the Kenya Medical Practitioners' and Dentists' Board.
- At least two years post graduate work experience.
- Additional training in subspecialty areas such as minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy), uro-gynaecology, gynaecologic oncology, reproductive medicine, or maternal-fetal medicine will be an added advantage.Established in 1952, the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu is part of the Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS).
