Position : Project ManagerOrbit School of The Cross is looking for a manager to join our team and lead staff as well as projects into success. Located in Mihang'o, the school is part of a non-profit (Joshua Orbit International/Orbit Village Project). The primary responsibilities of the manager will be to oversee the management as well as our priority projects and budgets.The primary responsibilities of the Manager will be to actively manage all of the projects and processes and initiatives taking place at any given time. To be a proactive team member who is tapped into the various activities going on as well as able to think ahead with the overall goals and mission of OVP in mind. A leader who is capable of managing their own workload as well as following up with others to ensure that activities move ahead in an efficient manner. To act as a strategic leader and to collaborate with the Director of Education and Guidance as well as senior leadership to ensure we are constantly meeting our goals and proactively thinking about how to continually improve things creatively and deliberately.As a manager, your job is to plan and promote the daily schedule of employees and the business, interview, hire, and coordinate employees, create and maintain budgets, and coordinate with and report to senior leadership.To succeed in this role, you should be able to be an effective leader with exceptional time management skills, be an efficient project manager who thrives in a fast paced environment and is proactive. Someone who is an exceptional communicator as well as problem solver.   • Oversee and manage all activities related to projects and activities taking place at OVP i.e. special events, construction, projects, day to day operations etc.
  • Manage budgets related to Orbit activities and projects
  • Track staff attendance, sick leave, and performance
  • Support system-wide integrity to the Orbit Village mission including ensuring establishing and maintaining a respectful and supportive high quality learning environment, lead teachers in upholding high standards of professional behavior
  • Oversee day to day activities, manage logistics and budgets
  • Collaborate of Director of G & E to research grants, track their schedule, and consistently apply for grants and steward donors when needed
  • Participate in management team's performance reviews and professional development
  • Oversee the CCI registration
  • Liaise with the DCO and other childrens' agencies
  • Research new resources and techniques to improve teaching
  • Interview and hire school personnel alongside the rest of management
  • Review and implement school policies
  • Develop management team to ensure they are continually performing well and improving in performance
School and community engagement:
  • Attend morning exercise
  • Ensure all guests and senior management are taken care of and support their requests
  • Onboarding new staff
  • Handle emergencies and school crises
  • Report to senior leadership on any concerns, issues, or challenges
  • Be a meaningful part of the management team and attend bi-weekly meetings
  • Be accessible and communicate effectively with all constituencies
  • Make your office a welcome place for the children to come and sit, talking to you as needed
  • Lead one club and ensure school clubs are consistent and contextually relevant
  • Attend conferences to gain knowledge on current educational trends
Partnership with Senior Leadership and Board Members:
  • Work with the Director and leadership team to develop short and long-term goals school-wide; monitor outcomes to ensure the school is meeting its performance goals
  • Submit monthly reports to Director
  • Update on grant proposals and incoming funding- manage grant budgets
  • Actively host when sponsors and potential donors are visiting
  • Clearly articulate the school's mission to all constituencies
  • Regularly inform the Board and Senior Leadership regarding school performance, any issues or challenges, and operational needs
