- Manage daily BSF farm operations including egg collection, larvae rearing, feeding, and harvesting.
- Assist in breeding and egg management of Black Soldier Fly colonies.
- Prepare and manage organic feed substrates, ensuring larvae receive proper nutrition.
- Monitor and maintain optimal environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation, and substrate quality) for all BSF lifecycle stages.
- Track larvae growth, health, and density, making adjustments as needed.
- Harvest larvae at the correct stage and perform initial processing (washing, drying, separation, and weighing).
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of containers, equipment, and the facility.
- Record production data, track yields, and report observations to supervisors.
- Follow all daily instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accurately.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in Black Soldier Fly farming or insect rearing.
- Associate diploma or equivalent; further education in agriculture, biology, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in farming, animal husbandry, insect rearing, or organic waste management is advantageous.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and handle BSF lifecycle tasks accurately.
- Physically fit and able to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 kg, standing, bending, and handling organic materials.
- Comfortable and willing to work closely with live insects and organic substrates.
- Strong attention to detail, observational skills, and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays, and able to follow all biosafety, health, and PPE protocols..
