- Lead full-cycle technical recruitment-from sourcing to onboarding-with speed, structure, and precision.
- Collaborate with customers to define and refine job descriptions and hiring criteria that match their project goals and team culture.
- Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines via diverse and modern sourcing channels, including but not limited to LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, Twitter, niche developer forums, chats, groups, portfolio sites (e.g., Behance, Dribbble for designers), and others. Should be comfortable engaging in both digital and in-person tech communities.
- Develop repeatable, scalable SOPs for recruiting using automation and AI as much as possible to reduce time-to-hire and improve quality.
- Own the candidate experience-because every interaction is part of our brand.
- Track and report on recruitment funnel performance, time-to-hire, and hiring velocity. Use data to optimize sourcing, screening, and conversion rates.
- Position VamosWatu as a unique employer in the Kenyan tech ecosystem.
- Create and execute a talent brand strategy that spans job descriptions, social media, career pages, and candidate touchpoints.
- Collaborate with the marketing and leadership teams to tell compelling people stories.
- Build advocacy through employee testimonials, hiring events, and digital engagement.
- Ensure our values-Ownership, Performance, Communication, and Rebelliousness-shine through in every people-facing asset.
- Own the employee lifecycle: onboarding, contracts, benefits, and payroll coordination.
- Identify needed policies, create them from scratch, implement them, and ensure adherence across the organization.
- Design and implement performance review frameworks that align with company values and encourage continuous feedback and growth.
- Champion employee wellbeing, tackle grievances early, and nurture a healthy, feedback-driven culture.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, including regular check-ins, stay interviews, and team rituals.
- Own the end-to-end onboarding experience including logistics (accounts, equipment), welcome kits, training schedules, and culture indoctrination.
- Identify and implement automation tools or lightweight systems to streamline recurring tasks and processes in HR operations.
- Improve office operations-supplies, attendance, space management-so our environment supports performance.

- 6+ years of combined experience in HR and talent acquisition (minimum 3 years in each).
- A strong background in tech hiring, employer branding, and HR-ideally for SaaS startups, dev agencies, or scaleups.
- Firsthand knowledge of Mexican, especially Merida's tech ecosystem-you've sourced from LinkedIn, local job boards, and local offline and online communities .
- A doer's mindset: you take ownership, push for performance, communicate clearly, and don't mind breaking the rules (innovate).
- Experience implementing HR tech tools including ATS/CRM systems, collaboration platforms, and AI-driven recruitment and automation solutions.
- A working knowledge of Mexican labor laws, contracts, and basic compliance.
